About Morehouse Community Medical Centers, Inc.

Morehouse Community Medical Centers, Inc. (MCMC) is a not-for-profit Community Health Center (CHC) located in Bastrop, Louisiana, in Morehouse Parish. This health center receives HHS funding and has Federal Public Health Service (PHS) deemed status with respect to certain health or health-related claims, including medical malpractice claims, for itself and its covered individuals. Established in 2002, MCMC received a federal grant in September 2007 to provide care to the uninsured in the original clinic in Bastrop, and serve the residents of Morehouse Parish. The number of clinics has grown, covering Mer Rouge, Marion, a dedicated pediatric clinic in Bastrop, as well as four school-based health centers located in Morehouse and Ouachita parishes.  MCMC recently took ownership of Monroe Pediatrics in August 2018.

MCMC provides the full complement of comprehensive primary health care services throughout patient lifecycles. Services, on site and through referral, include oral health, mental health, substance abuse counseling, enabling services, specialty care/services, education, and comprehensive outreach. MCMC offers services to all residents of Morehouse Parish and surrounding areas regardless of language, gender, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, physical and mental capacity, age, religion, housing status, and the ability to pay. Particular attention, however, is directed at reaching the low income, uninsured, underinsured, Medicaid, Medicare, and vulnerable populations.
